Introduction
Relief! Stressful relationships (personal, family, work), depression, anxiety, grief/loss, anger and conflict are some of the things I support my clients around in order for them to find relief, clarity and well-being. Often there is a connection (or lack thereof) between body and mind, or heart and head that is ill-serving. I can help with being present; which is where the bodymind awareness-connection is accessible. I find that being present, with oneself and others, is the only place from which effective, conscious, lasting choices and changes can be made. I have 18 years experience and have worked with many different personalities and ages.I specialize in somatic-psychotherapeutic bodymind work. Many clients find that addressing their concerns via a somatic approach facilitates a quicker, more direct resolution of their emotional and cognitive discomfort - plus, more often than not, a decrease in any negative physical symptoms they might have had!The modalities I employ - Gestalt Therapy, Postural Integration and Emotional Freedom Techniques (among others) - are all client-centered and grounded in the client's physical, present moment reality. I can relate to many of my clients' internal and external conflicts having reconciled similar ones in my own, personal and professional, therapeutic education and experience. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Psychotherapeutic Postural Integration / PPI
Postural Integration (PI) is a psychotherapeutic bodywork process holistically integrating body, mind and emotions.
Our physical body can hold tension, called armouring, in the muscles and tissue surrounding muscles and joints, from our scalp to the soles of our feet.
Breathing techniques are used to create awareness and energy in the body. At the same time hands-on tissue manipulation is applied to help soften and release problematic and/or uncomfortable/painful holding and tension. Most often there is an emotional component attached to, or at the root of, the tension/discomfort. Psychotherapeutic approaches (mainly Gestalt therapy) are incorporated to align your body, mind and emotional experiences into an integrated whole.
PI sessions are approximately 90 minutes long.

Emotional Freedom Techniques / EFT
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a combination of eastern, meridian point/acupressure work and western, bodymind therapy.
This powerful combination (referred to as Tapping) quickly reduces the intensity of negative emotions.
Negative emotions arise when you have experiences, thoughts or memories that trigger them. Lightly tapping on specific emotional meridian points (primarily on your hands, face and torso) while focusing on the physical feeling or emotion you wish to eliminate, decreases the negative, unwanted feelings so you can replace them with positive/desired feelings. Tapping interrupts the habitual, unwanted mind-body/thought-feeling feedback loop, thus disrupting the all too familiar, uncomfortable feelings we all experience at times.
With a few sessions and with practice, this is a technique that clients can readily learn to use on themselves as a self care and self support tool at home.
An EFT session is 1 hour (shorter or longer sessions are available on request)

Psychotherapeutic Yoga
Yoga can increase self awareness and release holding, pain or tension in your bodymind.
Even though there is no single definition of yoga that would define everyone's experience, I approach it as a system of breathing, meditation, mindfulness and physical postures for attaining bodily and mental control and well-being.
Be with Your Breath. Be Your Breath. Simply paying attention to your breath is a yogic practice. Add the experiences of being Grounded, Centred and Balanced (especially in relation to your Spine) will make your practice even richer, fuller, more satisfying and more integrated/holistic.
Mindfully, physically and muscularly relaxing and releasing tension often elicits emotional/psychological responses that you may wish to explore more fully in order to deepen your practice and your experience. I work with yoga clients one-on-one or in small group settings (3-4 maximum).
Sessions are 75 minutes long (shorter or longer sessions are available on request).
$80. / session
$50 per person / small group session.
The Distincion Between a Yoga Class and a Yoga Therapy Session Yoga For Well-Being My Yoga Bio
I predominantly work in the aforementioned psychotherapeutic modalities.
They are all experientially, body-mind-emotion inclusive and focused.
They work well together and easily overlap, blend and segue one into the other quite naturally.
It is always made clear, and agreed upon, just which modality we are working with in any given session, series of sessions, or at any given time.
